My Long Sea- Worshipping ceremony and festival (Nginh Ong ceremony and festival)

Every year, the sea worshipping ceremony is organized on three days. from the 10th to 12th of May according to the lunar month, at Ba Chua Xu Temple, My Long sea, on My Long commune, Cau Ngang district. During this three day period, there are many solemnly held ceremonies, such as Nghinh Ong Nam Hai, in which people act out the roles of deities like Quan Cong, Chau Xuong and Quan Binh while on boats. Aprocession is held for the deities Ba Chua Xu, Cau, and Nghinh Ong, In this last ceremony the people express their gratitude to “Ca Ong” ( the Whale), which helps them when they are in offshore accidents. Nong, ceremonies also worship the Agricultural deity, Chanh Te, and Nghinh Ngu Phuong, for these ceremonies, people travel all over folk games such as jumping with their legs in a bags, tug of war, and fishing contests. The festival ends with the boats being taken offshore. This festival was first held by fishmen in My Long in 1937 in order to seek peace. Gradually. it has attracted many people to take part in it. On festival days, thousands of tourists have come here to attend, and they have made this area busier and busier.

Ba Om Pool

Ba Om pool, also called Ao Vuong, lies in Ta Cu Quarter in Nguyet Hoa Village. The pool, covering an approximate area of 10 ha, lies along the route 53, about 7km southwest of Tra Vinh. The pool consists of limpid and calm water surrounded with sand dunes. The air around the pool is healthy and fresh.

Ba Dong Beach

Ba Dong beach belongs to Truong Long Hoa village in Duyen Hai district, approximately 55km from Tra Vinh. Originally built as a seaside resort by French, this beach covers many kilometers and has white sand and limpid water.

Nodol Pagoda

Nodol Pagoda, also called Chua Co or Chua Giong Lon, lies in Dai An village in Tra Cu district, approxiamtely 40km south from Tra Vinh. This pagoda was greatly influenced by Khmer architectural features. Around the pagoda are bamboo trees and other sorts of plants. People used to call this pagoda Chua Co because it used to be the home of thousands of different birds like storks, cong coc, and pigeons.

Ang Pagoda

Ang Pagoda is one of the Khmer ancient pagoda system in Tra Vinh. The pagoda is 7km from the center of Tra Vinh Town, located in an area of 4 ha in Tra Cu hamlet, Nguyet Hoa Commune, Chau Thanh district. The pagoda is surrounded by old trees of Ba Om pond. The architecture of pagoda is ancient and unique. It was recognized a national cultural relic by Culture
