The anniversary of Nguyen Trung Truc
The anniversary is held annually at the communal house, which is dedicated to Nguyen Trung Truc, at No.14 Nguyen Cong Tru road, Vinh Thanh quarter, Rach Gia town, on the 27th ,28th and 29th of August according to thelunar calendar. The festival is dedicated to the memory of Nguyen Trung Truc, a hero credited for his services in fighting the aggressors to safeguard the country. Before laying down his life for the country, he made a very famous statements:” Only when all the grass in Vietnam is pulled up, will there be no more Vietnamese people fighting agianst the French aggressors.” Every year, on his death anniversary day, thousands of visitors from all over the provinces and other provinces go on pilgrimages to pray to Nguyen Trung Truc and to attend the festival. On the 28th of August according to the lunar calendar, the “Co hoa” festival ( the ceremony of staging a procession for a throne ) is held. The communal house also provides accommodation for groups of visitors who come here.

Phu Quoc Island

This Island is the largest island in Vietnam with a surface area of 56,800 hectares, equivalent to the surface of Singapore. It is possible to reach the island by plane or by boat from Rach Gia. The name of this island signifies” rich island”. Phu Quoc island has a high tourist potential since visitors can benifit from the sea, rivers, forests, and mountains at the same location. Nuoc mam (fish sauce ) and pepper bear the name of Phu Quoc and are exported to many countries.
Duong Dong

It is a chief town of Phu Quoc and big fishing port located on the central west coast of the island. In this place there are
hotels and Phu Quoc airport. The most tourist attraction in Duong Dong is Cau Castle ( Dinh cau). This Temple was built in 1937
to dedicate ” Cau” ( God of the sea) to help the fishermen and sailors to overcome the storm and sea obstructions. Now the Castle
still kept the ancient architectural styles. It is a good view from here.
Khem Beach

It is the most beautiful beaches in Phu Quoc island. The beache is famous for its white sand, which resembles powdered chalk.
Khem Beach is situated in the south of Phu Quoc island, 25km from Duong Dong, 5km from An Thoi port. Among the sand beaches are stone rocks.
Coming here, tourist can take sea bathing, go fishing and enjoy local specialties.

Going along the beach, one reaches Ho Lo Mountain where one can sailing through magnificent caves.
Approximately 30km from Ha Tien is Hon Chong where fish is sold and pepper is grown. Chua Hang pagoda, located on Cai Ban Beach,
has two great statues of Buddha. Ha Tien has many famous beaches like Mui Nai, Bai No, Bai Ot, Bai Hon Heo , Bai Hon Chong and
Bai Duong. Perhaps the most attractive one are Bai Hon Trem and Bai Duong with yellow sand and coconut groves.
Dong Ho Panorama

Dong Ho is one of ten most beautiful panoramas in Ha Tien. The lake is surrounded by rivers and mountains making the landscape
poetic, with beautiful natural features. On one side of the lake is the Ngu Ho Mouantain. On the other side is To Chau Moutain.
Gianh Thanh river is located east and Ha Tien river, west.
Thach Dong Thon Van

This is a cave formed by a huge green rock rising above the ground on National highway 17, approximately 3km from Ha Tien.
Visitors can go to the cave by bus and then climb to the top, 500m higher. AT sunrise, while clouds float around the cave opening,
almost as if the cave blowing a cloud of smoke.
Nam Pho Truong Ba:
Nam Pho was once the center of Ha Tien. It is located 10km from Ha Tien. Hon Heo and Bai Ot are two magnificent beaches with
soft sand and clear water.

Phu Tu island is considered as a smaller Ha Long Bay, constituting a famous scenic landscape in Nam Bo region. There are two
high columns inclined similar to a father and son holding one another and looking at the sea. It is several hundred meters offshore.
